Narrative:
The Reddington Family has recently purchased The Smith House and has requested to design an addition to their new home while keeping the integrity of the house. The original house was built in 1965 on the shore of Long Island Sound designed by Richard Meier. Throughout the years, the Reddington Family has been preoccupied in research and the conspiracy of aliens. They are very into astrology and life outside of our planet Earth. They have decided to add a library with an observatory, a family room, and a gym.
The couple both have a PhD on astronomy and are college professors in a prestigious university. They requested to add an office/library with an observatory attached to it, which will be their sanctuary where they can be themselves, and to do work and research. Since they can get preoccupied with work, they wanted to add a small gym as well. They do not have time to go out and go to the gym so they decided to add a gym with the basic essentials they need to stay fit. Even though the couple is busy with work, they make sure to make time and bond with their two children when they are home from college. So, they requested to add a spacious family room perfect for family gatherings, watch movies, and for game nights.

Conceptual Connecting Analogy
The new addition is located and attached to the east side of the original Smith House. The first level space of the new addition serves as a regular joint connecting the two structures together.
